Terms of Use
Biblinário Terms of Use
Version 2026.10.11 · The version number is its date (year.month.day). The publication and effective dates are those recorded in this version's metadata, which accompanies this text.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are the contract between you and the party responsible for Biblinário for the use of the app and the internet services that come with it ("Biblinário" or the "Service"). Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data and is part of the set of documents that govern the Service.
The Portuguese (Brazil) version of these Terms is the reference text; this English version is a translation provided for convenience. If they differ, the Portuguese version prevails, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have.
1. Who we are
Biblinário is offered by an independent developer (an individual, not identified by name in this document), the "person responsible for Biblinário" ("we", "us"). We do not publish the responsible person's personal details in these documents; our only point of contact is the e-mail address feedback@biblinario.app, which handles every subject of these Terms and of the Privacy Policy.
2. What Biblinário is
Biblinário is an iOS and Android app for reading the Bible and hymnals, with:
- Bible translations and hymnals, search, verse comparison and offline use after you download the content;
- Bible stories, with text and, where available, audio narration;
- highlights, favorites, notes on verses and on hymns, reading progress and reading preferences;
- quiz games, a daily challenge, scoring, day streaks and rankings;
- reminders and notifications, if you turn them on;
- synchronization of this data across your devices when you use an account.
As of this version, Biblinário is free: there are no paid plans, in-app purchases or ads. If any paid feature or advertising is ever introduced, it will be announced by updating these Terms (section 14).
3. Who may use it
Biblinário is intended for people aged 13 or over. If you are under 18, use the Service with the knowledge and authorization of a parent or legal guardian. Where the law of your country requires a higher minimum age or a formal authorization for minors to use the Service, that requirement must be followed. Guest mode (section 4) does not require registration, but it is not intended for children without a responsible adult's supervision.
4. Your account
Guest. You can use Biblinário without an account. In this mode we create a guest profile tied to your device. Guests do not appear in rankings and have no account to recover if they lose the device or uninstall the app.
Account. To sync your data across devices, appear in rankings and be able to recover access, you create an account with e-mail and password or sign in with Google or Apple. By creating an account you state that you have read and accept these Terms and that you have taken note of the Privacy Policy; we record this acceptance (which version, when) as evidence of the contract.
Security. You are responsible for keeping your password and device secure and for everything done with your account. Tell us if you suspect misuse. Account information must be truthful and up to date, and the account is personal and non-transferable.
Deletion. You can delete your account at any time in the app Settings (Delete account). Deletion is permanent and is explained in section 12 and in the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to break the law or infringe the rights of others;
- try to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or bypass security measures, usage limits or the Service's access controls;
- use bots, automation or reverse engineering to bulk-extract content, questions or data from the Service, or to artificially obtain points in games and rankings;
- choose a nickname, display name or picture that is offensive, impersonates someone else or exposes other people's personal data;
- write, in your notes, content that is illegal or infringes the rights of others;
- harm the operation of the Service or other people's experience.
6. Your content and your profile
Your content. The notes, highlights, favorites, hymn notes and preferences you create remain yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store them, sync them across your devices and display them to you, only to provide the Service. We do not publish your notes to other people.
Public profile in rankings. If you have an account and score points, your nickname, display name, profile picture (when there is one, for example the picture of your Google account) and your scores and streaks may be seen by other people in the Biblinário rankings. Choose details you are comfortable showing. We may remove or change a nickname, name or picture that breaks these Terms.
7. Bible texts, hymns and third-party materials
The Bible translations, the hymn lyrics and chords and other materials shown in Biblinário belong to their respective authors, publishers and rights holders, or are in the public domain, as the case may be. We do not claim ownership of these texts. You may use them in Biblinário for personal reading and study; any other use (reproduction, redistribution, commercial use) depends on the licence of the respective holder. If you hold rights in any material shown and believe it should be corrected, credited differently or removed, write to feedback@biblinario.app; we will review the request and, if it is well founded, correct or remove the material.
8. AI-generated content and the nature of religious content
Part of Biblinário's supporting content is produced or assisted by artificial intelligence tools: quiz questions and explanations, translations of stories into other languages, synthesized audio narration and some cover images. This content goes through automated checks, but it may contain inaccuracies, simplifications or translation errors. It does not replace the Bible text, careful study or the guidance of your faith community. If you find a mistake, tell us at the contact e-mail.
Biblinário is a reading and study tool. It is not a religious, legal, medical or psychological counselling service, and it takes no position on the doctrines of any denomination. The translations and hymnals offered reflect different traditions.
9. Biblinário's intellectual property
The app, its brand, design, software, original questions, the organization of the content and other elements proper to Biblinário are ours or our licensors', and are protected by law. These Terms do not transfer to you any right in them, except the personal, limited, non-exclusive, revocable and non-transferable licence to use the app under these Terms.
10. Availability, offline use and synchronization
We aim to keep the Service available, but it may be unavailable because of maintenance, failures or reasons beyond our control. Content you have downloaded stays available offline. Changes you make offline stay on the device and are sent when you are back online. If the same note is changed on two devices, the most recent change prevails. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, with reasonable notice when this significantly affects your data or your use.
11. Notifications
Reminders and notifications only work if you grant the operating-system permission, and you can adjust or turn them off at any time in the app or device Settings.
12. Suspension, termination and deletion
You may stop using the Service and delete your account whenever you want. We may suspend or terminate an account, with notice where possible, if these Terms are breached, if there is a risk to security or to the Service, or if the law requires it. When you delete your account, we delete the data linked to it as described in the Privacy Policy; content you downloaded for offline use on the device may stay there until you uninstall the app.
13. Warranties and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", within the limits of the law. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that third-party or AI-generated content is complete and accurate. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or lost profits arising from use of the Service, nor for acts of third parties beyond our control (such as failures of the internet, of your device or of app stores).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that the law grants you as a consumer (Brazilian Consumer Defense Code, Law No. 8,078/1990), nor liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, such as liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence. If any clause is held invalid, the others remain in force.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Each version is published with a number and an effective date, and earlier versions remain available for reference. When a change is material (for example a new obligation, a change of purpose, of price or of rights), we will ask you to read and accept the new version in the app before you continue to use your account; purely editorial changes (text corrections, clarifications that do not change rights or duties) do not require a new acceptance. If you do not agree with the new version, you may delete your account.
15. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence (Brazilian Consumer Defense Code, art. 101, I). In all other cases disputes will be resolved by the court that has jurisdiction under Brazilian law.
